A Plan to Expand

We have grown our reach steadily to 13 states. Our efforts and reputation are building momentum and have convinced 16 prominent private sector funders, in addition to the Annie E. Casey Foundation, to partner with us as co-investors.

We already work in 13 states and will soon launch in Mississippi and New Mexico. We are aiming to make our portfolio more representative of the country by adding larger states, states in the West, Mountain Plains, and Mid-Atlantic regions, and more states whose foster care systems are county-run rather than state-run. Possible expansion states that satisfy at least two, and ideally all three, of these criteria include California, Colorado, Nevada, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Virginia. We will also consider other states where the conditions for change are right.
